East African Famine

East African Famine

Rotary members, Rotary clubs and districts looking to support the famine affecting 16 million people in East Africa should direct any funds to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) or Rotary box charities in order to provide immediate aid and avoid delay in supporting those most in need.

The Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland Donations Trust is focused on long term community and restoration projects, and given the need for rapid response to the emergency, they, along with the International Service Committee, feel this is the most appropriate course of action for Rotary members looking to donate.

The DEC member charities include the likes of Oxfam, Save the Children and the British Red Cross.

Meet Rotary

“I joined Rotary hoping to make a difference but had no idea that it would change my world. Meeting and becoming friends with some of the most extraordinarily inspirational people imaginable has been a life changing experience.”
