KidsOut began as a Rotary project run by the Rotary Club in Kingston, and quickly became so successful they registered as an individual charity, but still have strong ties and support from Rotary GB&I.
Twice a year Rotary host Annual KidsOut days with Rotary members volunteering and helping take out children all over the country. However KidsOut also host numerous events throughout the year.
The first National Rotary KidsOut Day took place in 1990 and since then it has turned into the biggest single outing for disadvantaged children in the UK. With more than 28,000 children participating in 2019.

To make the National Rotary KidsOut Day the success that it is, more than 10,000 Rotarians volunteer on the day at over 100 venues.
Whether they live with critical health issues, in refuge or with a disability, children across the country are taken on a fun day out to the zoo, a theme park or even the seaside, often for the first time in their lives.
Chief Executive of KidsOut, Gordon Moulds recently praised the efforts of Rotary members and clubs who volunteer during National Rotary KidsOut Day.
To make the National Rotary KidsOut Day the success that it is, more than 10,000 Rotarians volunteer on the day at over 100 venues.
“I must start by congratulating all Rotarians who made the 29th Anniversary Rotary National KidsOut Day such a resounding success with over 28000 children taken on a very special day out”.
“This year over 130 different venues across the UK were utilised. This is a staggering achievement and one that all Rotarians should be so proud of”.
For the past few years Rotary and KidsOut have come together to organise a Festive KidsOut Day. Christmas should be one of the most magical times of the year, however for many children across the country this can be one of the hardest times to go through.
KidsOut and Rotary decided to do something about this and created a festive day out for the most vulnerable children within our society.
KidsOut have set a target of 35,000 children having a great day out for National Rotary KidsOut Day by 2023, with a target of 33,000 for this year.
The Festive Day Out was a huge success with 53 Clubs taking over 5700 disadvantaged children to a pantomime or providing a Christmas party. On top of this, KidsOut provided a further 10,200 children a Festive Day Out, giving all of these children a magical Christmas experience
KidsOut is continuing to grow, helping more and more children every year, and 2020 will be no different.
KidsOut have set a target of 35,000 children having a great day out for National Rotary KidsOut Day by 2023, with a target of 33,000 for this year.
