Conference 2018 The A Listers

There will be an exciting mixture of functions happening throughout the weekend to keep you enthralled.

From a stunning and entertaining show featuring the Bridgend Male Choir, historical tours of some local landmarks, to a lively and fun indoor beach party! You can book tickets for your preferred functions via the Conference Registration which will go live very shortly!

Please note, only registered conference delegates may book functions and entertainment which are at an additional cost and subject to availability.


Friday 6th April 2018

Pre-show dinner at The Grand Hotel

Enjoy a delicious two course meal at the Conference Headquarters Hotel to start the evening off.

Price: £26.50 per person
Venue: 1881 Restaurant, The Grand Hotel
Time: 18.30 – 20.00 (bar open from 18.00)
Dress code: Smart/casual

“Rotary Music Night on the Riviera” Show

A eclectic mix of entertainment including the fantastic Bridgend Male Choir, the mesmerising Matricks Illusion and a rockin’ performance by The Four Jerseys, a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons!

Price: Inclusive for all paying Full Weekend Registrations. £10 for all other registrations.
Venue: The Forum, Riviera Centre
Time: 20.30 – 23.00
Dress code: Smart/casual


Saturday 7th April

Foundation Functions: We are mixing things up this year by offering a choice of three very different but interesting functions to celebrate and raise money for the Rotary Foundation.

Lunch at Torre Abbey, Spanish Barn

Step through the ancient doors and enjoy a traditional Ploughman’s lunch in the historic Spanish Barn at the medieval monastery Torre Abbey. The ticket price also includes entry into the Abbey to use at your leisure throughout your stay.

Price: £19 per person (includes entry to Torre Abbey)
Venue: The Spanish Barn, Torre Abbey.  Located just 4 minutes walk from the Riviera Centre.
Time: 13.00 – 14.00 (Lunch only. Tours of Torre Abbey are to be taken when you like throughout the weekend)
Dress code: None
Entry to Torre Abbey: Just show your lunch ticket at the Main Reception to receive a free re-entry ticket into the Abbey.

Ploughman’s Lunch in the Riviera Centre

Enjoy a tasty traditional Ploughman’s Lunch with honey ham and chunks of mature cheddar cheese followed by tea or coffee.  Conveniently taking place in the newly refurbished Rosetor Room which has stunning views over Torre Abbey Gardens, across to Torquay Harbour and the seafront.

Price: £13 per person
Venue: Rosetor Room, Riviera Centre, Torquay
Time: 13.00 – 14.00
Dress code: None
Dietary information: Vegetarian and vegan options available

Tour of Kents Cavern and Afternoon Tea

Enjoy a tour of the magical Kents Cavern caves and then sit down to a delicious Devonshire Cream Tea.  The tour of the cave gives an amazing insight into Ice Age life and an opportunity to see naturally formed chambers, stunning geological formations and to walk through an underground world that was home to Europe’s first humans.

Price: £17 per person, including coach transport to and from the caves, a cave tour and cream tea.
Venue: Kents Cavern, 91 Ilsham Rd, Torquay TQ1 2JF. Approximately 2 miles from the Riviera Centre.
Time: Choose a tour at either 14.15, 14.45 or 15.15

Indoor themed Beach Party

A party not to be missed! Enjoy all the fun of the beach with a delicious three-course dinner and dance the night away to one of the UK’s leading party bands, The A-Listers, who will be playing an eclectic repertoire of your favourite songs from the 60′s onwards.

Price: £47.50 per person
Venue: Riviera Centre, with dinner in the Arena and dancing in the Forum.
Time: 19.15
Dress code: Smart/lounge suits. Appropriate beach/holiday wear, Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts. Strictly no mankinis!

The A-Listers Dance only

Enjoy the A-Listers as above without the dinner first.

Price: £12.50 per person.
Venue: The Forum, Riviera Centre
Time: 21.00
Dress code: Smart/casual or beach/holiday wear.


There will also be Rotary workshops to get involved in tackling current issues on Dementia, Computer Fraud and Rotary Membership. These can be booked through the online registration which will be available very soon!
