Support Rotary's efforts to rid the world of polio.
WHAT IS POLIO?
Polio is a highly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5. The virus is spread from person to person, typically through contaminated water. It can attack the nervous system, and in some instances, lead to paralysis.
WHY ERADICATE POLIO?
If the eradication efforts of Rotary and our partners stopped today, within 10 years as many as 200,000 new cases of paralytic polio could occur around the world each year. We have helped prevent 20 million cases of paralysis.
OUR PROVEN PROGRESS
Since Rotary launched the campaign to eradicate polio more than 40 years ago, the number of cases around the world has dropped by 99.9%. There was once 1,000 cases a day in 125 countries. Now, there are just a handful.
Your generous donations - one off, regular or in your will - to The Rotary Foundation are essential to securing and growing Rotary programmes throughout the world.
Rotary's number one humanitarian goal is ridding the world of polio. Help us protect children around the world.
Did you know? Thanks to 2-to-1 matched funding from the Gates Foundation, every £1/€1 donated will become £3/€3!
