Disaster Response & Recovery

Service is a key aspect of Rotary life, with thousands of members helping to support some of the most vulnerable people in the world, both locally and internationally.

Helping communities impacted by disasters

Following a disaster, many vulnerable people are without access to some of the most basic human rights: food, shelter, sanitation facilities, education and healthcare.

Rotary mobilises rapidly in the wake of human and natural disasters to provide emergency support. Rotary is often a part of the communities that we work in and with, and is well-placed to help implement longer term projects for recovery and to help build resilience to face future challenges.

Our global network means Rotary members collaborate from thousands of miles apart, connecting with people and organisations so that together we have a bigger impact. Distance is no barrier when it comes to changing lives.
