Expand Our Reach

  • Expand our Reach

As People of Action we are inclusive, engaging, compassionate, and ambitious on behalf of the world.

Let’s share our values with new audiences, create new ways to bring people together to experience the power of Rotary.

To expand our reach we will:

Grow and Diversify our Membership and Participation

We will achieve this by:

  • Achieve a net increase in membership year on year
  • Set clear targets for generating membership leads, as a result of a new marketing strategy. We will then go on to qualify, refer and convert those leads to join Rotary, while also offering new membership avenues, such as the Rotary Global Hub, Direct membership and Enterprise membership.
  • Starting and nurturing a minimum of 4 new, innovative and flexible clubs per district, per year
  • Improving the level of retention of those members in the first two years of their membership
  • Growing the number of Rotaract clubs and Rotaractors
  • Collecting relevant demographic information of new members to track improvements in diversity
  • Reducing the average age of membership across the organisation.

  • Rapidly increasing the number of district passport clubs
  • Encouraging and chartering more flexible clubs
  • Improving Rotary's connections into the corporate market.

Increase Rotary's Openness and Appeal

We will achieve this by:

  • Implementing a cohesive, integrated marketing strategy and aligning all external channels to market
  • Actively promoting multi-generational initiatives around the environment as a unifying cause
  • Driving culture change through greater internal communications planning
  • Enhancing communication channels to all members through Specialist Adviser Teams at Cluster Level
  • Offering Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) sensitivity training for club and district leadership roles
  • Fully integrating Rotaractors into district and club events and leadership opportunities.

Build Awareness of our Impact and Brand

We will achieve this by:

  • Elevating Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland's profile as people of influence, purpose and action
  • Increasing existing membership buy in and engagement
  • Gaining speaker engagements and promotional opportunities for senior leaders
  • Engaging with Chambers of Commerce, partner and business events
  • Promoting awards of public interest, such as Rotary Young Citizen Awards
  • Implementing digital and social media strategy
  • Erecting and encouraging visible, long-lasting community signage to commemorate project work
  • Encouraging and supporting community assessments by clubs

  • Cleaning up stagnant websites and social media pages
