David Liddiatt – Past Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland President

We are saddened to share the news of the death of David Liddiatt, who served as President of Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland in 2001/02.

David first joined Rotary in 1968 as a member of Clifton (Bristol), where he was a member for an incredible 54 years.

David Liddiatt served as Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland President during 2001/02.

David served as District Governor for Rotary in the West of England (District 1100) during 1991/92, before taking up the role of Great Britain and Ireland President in 2001/02.

His year as President was a memorable one for Rotary, and involved celebrating the Queen’s Golden Jubilee with the Rotary Garden Party.

There was also huge success for Rotary’s Tuberculosis Alert project, SportsAid, KidsOut and Interact, all of which David was supportive of as President.

After serving as Rotary GB&I President, David also spent two years as Rotary International Director between 2009 and 2011, as well as roles within The Rotary Foundation.

David was a passionate Rotarian, and a champion of sharing the power of Rotary with others.

We extend our condolences to David’s friends and family at this time.
