As the Rotary Young Chef grand final looms ever near, Fifteen is on the lookout for budding young chefs to join their pioneering chef apprenticeship scheme in London.
Fifteen, which helps to judge the Rotary Young Chef, is urging young people, between the ages of 18 and 24, to try their hand at working in the restaurant industry.
The Fifteen Chef Apprenticeship Scheme aims to give disadvantaged youngsters, who are in need of a break in life, the chance to gain professional training that would set them up for an independent, inspired and productive life.
Andrew Parkinson, Executive Head Chef, Fifteen, said: “The apprenticeship is often a tough road of hard work and dedication; a learning curve of the skills required not only in the kitchen but also in life – something many of our apprentices have previously been denied.”
“In that respect, our apprenticeship scheme is similar to Rotary Young Chef in the sense that it offers young people opportunities they may not otherwise have had.
The application deadline is Friday 29 May 2009 and all interested parties should register online at: http://www.fifteentrainee.drm-za.com/ or, if you would like more information, you can email freshstart@fifteenlondon.com.
Fifteen’s purpose is two fold: first to offer young people, often in need of a break, the experience of learning to work in the restaurant business and second, for our customers to enjoy fantastic food and knowledgeable customer service. The restaurant is the trading arm of a registered charity, Fifteen Foundation (no. 1094536), and its profits go towards a pioneering restaurant apprenticeship scheme.
