It is with sadness that Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland can confirm that one of the victims of the Nepalese plane crash was Rotarian Christopher Davey. He was a member and club secretary of the Rotary Club of Nene Valley, District 1070.

Tributes are pouring in following the tragedy, where it is thought the plane he and 18 others were traveling on took off from Kathmandu Airport but got into difficulties just two minutes into the flight.

Christopher has been described by fellow Rotarians as a hard working and active member of the community. RIBI President John Minhinick said: "We are all very saddened to hear of the loss of Chris Davey. He gave a lot of time to charity and Rotary work. He organised the local RIBI Technology Tournaments, which provided young people with the opportunity to use their maths, communication and engineering skills to solve a problem. He will be very much missed."

A dedicated tribute page has been created on the Rotary Club of Nene Valley website.
