Over 25,000 disadvantaged children from across Great Britain and Ireland had smiles on their faces following great days out at the seaside, theme parks, adventure parks, museums and zoos, thanks to the generous support of KidsOut and Rotary clubs who provided support on the day, funding and much more to make the day special.

Since 1999, Rotary clubs have been working with KidsOut to take thousands of children out for a magical day on the second Wednesday in June. This day out gives children a day where they can forget about their problems and one that will give them the memories of a lifetime.

The number of children that get to enjoy this amazing treat has grown from a couple of hundred in the early years to several thousand this year.

In Tyne & Wear, the Rotary Club of Monkseaton Centenary took youngsters to the Blue Reef Aquarium where the children were enthralled by the sealife on show. Elsewhere and the Rotary Club of Doncaster St Leger brought children, staff and carers from the North Ridge Community School, a special school for children with severe learning difficulties, to Flamingo Land in North Yorkshire. Over 700 youngsters from across Essex, London and Hertfordshire joined together for a great big day out to the Paradise Wildlife Park. Youngsters are already asking if they can go again next year!
