Rebecca Leung, from Bancrofts School in London, has played her piano all the way to the winning spot in this year’s Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) Young Musician Competition. Coming first in the vocalist category was the very talented Grace Farrel.

The national final took place at Bedford School, Bedfordshire on Saturday 14th of May. Rebecca, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Barkingside, faced a tough contest as she competed against 15 other very talented young musicians.

This year saw a range of musical presentations from the French horn to cello and wonderful vocal performances:

3rd Emma Rushworth

Vocalists
1st Emma Farrel
2nd Fiona Joice
3rd Samantha Quillish. 

16 finalists made their way through school and regional contests to claim their place in the national final making every one a winner.

RIBI Young Musician is just one of many great opportunities provided by Rotary for youngsters. There is also RIBI Young Chef, RIBI Young Writer, RIBI Young Photographer, RIBI Youth Speaks and RIBI Young Citizen.
