Rotary clubs across Great Britain and Ireland are keeping up the fundraising effort for the Pakistan flood survivors. An estimated 20 million people have been affected by the floods which stretch south along the Indus river from the North West District to the Sindh province.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the public, thousands of pounds have been donated to Water Survival Box (WSB) , ShelterBox and Aquabox. There are also reports of a solo donation of £3,000 to WSB.
A second consignment of 200 Water Survival Boxes left the UK on Saturday 14th August on a flight to Islamabad where Humanity First UK collected and distributed them. This speedy response by all the aid box organisations has given victims hope of surviving in the most difficult of conditions.
Rotarians from Chelwood Bridge have been working shifts to keep the WSB production line moving with help from Inner Wheel as well. All help is voluntary which means that every pound raised goes to paying for boxes and the life-saving contents.
Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) has launched an appeal to help the people affected by the Pakistan floods. Donations to the RIBI Donations Trust Pakistan Flood Appeal will be used to aid the long-term rebuilding of communities in the affected areas.
