Channel Rotary donate over £12,000 to help homeless and vulnerable

South-East England Rotary Club made a vital donation to Porchlight thanks to their impressive fundraising efforts.

Folkstone Channel Rotary, Kent, raises funds every year to support charities that help improve the lives of the less fortunate.

This year the club chose to support the charity Porchlight, Kent’s largest charity for the homeless and vulnerable.

Fundraising started with the big Sleep-Out earlier this year at the Three Hills Sports Park in Folkstone.

In August the club’s President, Alan Myers, presented a cheque for over £12,000 to Porchlight representative, Jo Dawes.

Jo spoke of her appreciation for the major donation and assured it will make a big difference for the charity.

She said “We really appreciate the support of you, your club, and the sleepout participants and are thrilled with the sums of money raised in what will be a challenging year for us.

“I hope you left feeling reassured that your donations are much needed and will be well spent.”
