The Rotary Club of Londonderry is pleased to announce that the BBC Foreign Correspondent Fergal Keane, will be after dinner speaker at the International Peace Conference on 24th May at the Millennium Forum in Derry-Londonderry.
The former Northern Ireland and Southern Africa correspondent has won critical acclaim for his coverage of conflict and conflict resolution, including the elections following the end of apartheid in South Africa and the genocide in Rwanda, for which he won the Amnesty International Press Award.
President of the Rotary Club of Londonderry, Gavin Killeen said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Fergal Keane to this event which is for anyone interested in conflict, conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Fergal’s long and distinguished track record in covering these subjects for the BBC should make for a tremendously interesting speech which we are looking forward to with great anticipation.”
The International Peace Conference is being hosted by the Rotary Club of Londonderry in partnership with the University of Ulster’s International Conflict Research Institute. The event aims to make a meaningful contribution to reconciliation, learning and self expression, for those involved in peacemaking and peacebuilding throughout the world.
