This weekend, hundreds of Rotary members across Great Britain and Ireland are literally serving the community.
For the fourth year in a row, Rotary is helping the Eden Project’s Big Lunch by inviting people to the dinner table in arrange of public events on Sunday 7th June.
The partnership first started in 2011 when many clubs took to the streets and brought neighbours together to celebrate the Jubilee with style. Since then, the event has grown and it is very exciting to be pairing up with The Eden Project’s Big Lunch once more.
Many events are being held in all kids of venues. The Rotary Club of Norwich is having a party on Mundesley Beach and it is hoped a local stunt pilot will be practising his display overhead, offering an extra treat to diners.
The Rotary Club of Edgware and Stanmore is aiming to beat its impressive record of 100 guests by going door-to-door to invite people along. Each guest brings a dish to help get the party started. The club has successfully raised hundreds of pounds for local charities and provides a variety of entertainment which has, in the past, included a Bolivian dance troupe.
These and many more lunches will be getting underway this Sunday. Contact your local Rotary club and get in on the act as well as discover what Rotary is really about.
