It’s official! Horsham Park will now be known as the scene of a mighty, if slightly unusual, GUINNESS World Record breaking battle. Rotary Today can reveal the World Record for the Largest Custard Pie Fight was broken at the ‘KidzStuff’ Festival 2009 held in West Sussex at the end of May.

The Rotary Club of Horsham and event Management Company Terbell Ltd joined forces with sponsors Hawkin’s Bazaar and Horsham District Council to organise the event which saw 251 children splat it out. The following clean up operation may also be another record breaker for the amount of soap used by parents as they attempted to locate their child from under a generous coating of custard.

Not one to be complacent, organisers are upping their game for next year’s festival in June with aims for a similar World Record.  If you have any quirky ideas do get in touch with RC Horsham. Equally, any suggestions for other fun and educational activities that could be included in the Festival and any interests of sponsorship are most welcome.

Kidz Stuff Festival has gone from strength to strength in just three years and is aimed at pre-teenage children together with their families. One day of the Festival is reserved for children with special needs and their friends, families and carers.

Visit www.kidzstuff.org.uk or call 01403 754005 for more information and to make suggestions, or request a sponsorship brochure.
