The Rotary Club of Neston has established Cheshire’s first RotaKids club at Neston Primary School. The new club members were presented with their certificates, badges and wristbands at a special assembly held at the school when the children returned after the Christmas holidays. Members of the new club will use their time and energy to help fellow pupils, the local community and communities overseas.

Vice President of the Rotary Club of Neston, David Brigden said: "We are delighted to have created our first RotaKids club in the area and are impressed with the enthusiasm the children have shown. We hope that by creating this club, other schools across the region will get involved once they see how worthwhile RotaKids is for the children and the causes they support. As the first club in Cheshire, Neston is very special and we will be watching and supporting the children in all their activities over the next few months.”

The school is already participating in the Rotary Grow Your Own Crocus project, to raise money for polio eradication and will be selling the crocuses when they bloom, in further support of the cause.

The next activity for the new RotaKids club is a car wash in February to raise funds for the local Claire House Children’s Hospice.
