Welcome to 2011.

Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) is looking forward to Thanks for Life, youth competitions, the RIBI Conference in Dublin and helping improve lives at home and abroad.

In February, Rotary clubs all across the country will be raising funds for Thanks for Life, the campaign to help eradicate polio from the world. Last year, over a million pounds was raised through school activities, town festivals and supermarket collections. This year, Rotary clubs are ready for more hard work and fun in the communities as people learn about polio and play a vital role in wiping it out for good. Find out how you can help by visiting Thanks for Life.

If you know of a creative and talented youngster, why not tell them about the many opportunities within Rotary? Youth competitions, including RIBI Young Chef, RIBI Young Photographer and RIBI Young Writer, are underway. There is also Rotaract, for those aged 18 to 30, and Interact, for 12 to 18 year olds.

The RIBI Young Citizens of the year will be revealed in April in Dublin at the RIBI Conference. Over the past five years, incredible and selfless acts by young people have been recognised and rewarded. Read about the 2010 winners and be inspired.

Make 2011 your year for making new friends and making a difference. Contact your local Rotary club to find out how you can be involved or visit our membership pages.
