Students from all over the world visited the Petty Pool Outdoor Centre in Sandiway, Northwich, as part of an annual summer camp programme organised by the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal.
The students, from Poland, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Transylvania, Macau and Hong Kong, came together to enjoy outdoor activities and learn about the UK and its culture, whilst also having fun. This year for the first time, the international students were joined by 18 students from local youth clubs, youth projects and the Amplify Youth Project in Northwich.
A fantastic day was had by all, culminating with an acoustic gig by musicians from the Northwich Amplify Youth Project. To round the event off, a BBQ was organised by local Rotarians for all the students and staff and a cheque was presented by Vic Lakeland, President of the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal, to the Petty Pool Outdoor Centre for their charitable trust.
Trevor Meech from the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal, said: “This was a great opportunity for Rotary to work with the Petty Pool Trust and local youth services to provide an enjoyable and memorable day out for teenagers from around the Northwich area. They very quickly interacted and bonded with the international students and I am sure many lasting friendships have been created.”
