The Rotary Club of Dover has made history by chartering the first ever RotaKids club in Kent and East Sussex. The new RotaKids club means that the town of Dover now has a club for all age groups in the Rotary family with two Rotary clubs, a Rotaract club for 18-30 year olds and an Interact club for 12-18 year olds which is based at Dover Grammar School for Girls.

Chris Scoble, President of the Rotary Club of Dover awarded the new RotaKids from St Martins School a charter certificate from Rotary International along with their RotaKids badges. In his address to the school assembly, Rotary District Governor Chris Barnett said: "You are now joining 1.25 million Rotarians worldwide who have the common aim of improving lives whilst enjoying fun and friendship."

The RotaKids have already decided to help the worldwide Rotary International campaign to eradicate polio and to develop local projects to help their local community. They will also be helping with the Rotary Club of Dover Christmas collections this year and are looking forward to becoming Santa’s elves as the Rotary sleigh travels around the town.
