An annual event on Erdington High Street, Sutton Coldfield, proved to be a heavyweight success.
The idea behind ‘Kilo of Cash’ is that coins are dropped into a bucket that is then weighed to see if it can equal the weight of a kilo.
Rotarian Eric Dance, who organised the event commented: "Despite all the work underway on the footpaths on Erdington High Street it did not deter the generosity of shoppers and during the day £254 was collected. We distribute funds to many locally based charities during the year and this will go towards our annual fundraising total. I am very grateful to everyone who contributed."
The Rotary Club of Wylde Green has a varied and interesting programme at local, national and international level.
