The Rotary Club of Launceston is ready to throw open the doors to another community shop in the town. As with a previous venture, which operated for a few weeks last year, all of the profit is ploughed back into local community groups, local charities and local projects. Last year’s shop raised over £12,000, an impressive amount in such a short time.
The shop promises to be an Aladdin’s cave of treasures, donated from the local area, and volunteers are making finishing touches.
The Rotary President Leighton Penhale said, “We want to distribute the profits to as many local community organisations as possible and we anticipate that there will be numerous applications for help.”
“This shop can be a very useful source of income for local community groups, local community projects and local community charities,” said fellow club member Alan Rainsley, “But to be successful we need the community to help us by donating the stock that we need, helping us to run the shop and coming into the shop as customers.”
Offers of helping hands and good quality donated stock are welcome.
