As another busy year draws to a close, Rotary International in Great Britiain & Ireland (RIBI) would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported, participated in and helped the many life-changing and exciting Rotary projects in these islands and overseas.
Whether it is the New Generations youth competitions, setting up an Interact club, being part of Rotaract, helping End Polio Now, raising funds during times of disaster or taking underprivileged youngsters on a day out, Rotary members make a difference and have a great time in the process. Much of this work would not be possible without the support of the public who have also given their time and donated to many good causes.
2012 promises more opportunities for lives to be improved, wherever they are. RIBI supported charity Nyumbani will be helping South African orphans who have lost their families to HIV/AIDS, the Rotary Global Swimarathon is making a big splash, Rotary members will immunise millions of tiny children in India against polio and there will be the RIBI Young Citizen Awards, presented live from the RIBI Conference on the BBC News Channel.
If you would like to do something different with your time or just find out more about Rotary, contact your local Rotary club and discover how you, too, could make a difference whilst making great friends and having fun at the same time.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
