15 outstanding Rotarians have been named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
This includes the award for seven Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), one Order of the British Empire (OBE) and seven British Empire Medal (BEM) accolades.

Awarded an MBE for services to the community in Brackley, Northamptonshire
Dr Charan Singh Bunger, Rotary Club of Handsworth
Awarded an MBE for services to education for deprived and exploited children in India and Founder/Chairman of the Guru Ravidass Educational Assistance Trust.
Marion Cornick, Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane
Awarded an MBE for services to Special Education and Founder of The Loddon School, Sherfield-on-Loddon, Hampshire.
Glen Elliot, Rotary Club of Elgin
Awarded an MBE for services to charity in Moray
Helen Falcon, Rotary Club of Aylesbury
Awarded an MBE for services to Dental Education. Helen is Lead Postgraduate Dental Dean for England.
Hazel Haas, Rotary Club of Knaresborough
Awarded an MBE for services to Wounded and Injured Service Personnel and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
David Tee, Rotary Club of Witney
Awarded an MBE for services to improving the lives of the community in the District of Vetka in Belarus following the Chernobyl disaster.
Chris Ball, Rotary Club of Chertsey
Awarded an OBE for services to Natural Heritage and the community.
Stephen Segar, Rotary Club of Cirencester. Stephen has spent 12 years as Chair of the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum (FOWA) and has overseen FOWA’s £6 million worth of fundraising for the Westonbirt Project.
Awarded a BEM for voluntary and charitable services in Chertsey, Surrey.
Kenneth Beresford, Rotary Club of Holmes Chapel
Awarded a BEM for services to the community in Sandbach, Cheshire.
David Furnell, Rotary Club of Berkhamsted Bulbourn
Awarded a BEM for services to charities and the community in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
Martin Kettrick, Rotary Club of Blythe Bridge & District
Awarded a BEM for services to charitable fundraising.
Ray Spencer, Rotary Club of Wakefield Chantry
Awarded a BEM for voluntary services to the MS Society and Kingsland School, Wakefield.
Ian Stuart, Rotary Club of Ilfracombe
Awarded a BEM for services to the community in Lee and Ilfracombe, North Devon.
Peter Thackrah, Rotary Club of Settle
Awarded a BEM for service to the community and charity in North Yorkshire.
In total, the list honoured 1,149 individuals, which this year is announced as Her Majesty celebrates her official 90th birthday.
On his award, Martin Kettrick said: “I’m never comfortable taking any accolades because I do what I do because I enjoy it and have always had the support of many, many people without whom everything we’ve achieved would not have been possible.”
