RIBI is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s RIBI Young Writer Competition. Thousands of youngsters from all over Great Britain and Ireland took part by submitting a letter to an individual of their choice on the theme of Peace.

The winners are:

Riya Taank, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Leicester (Senior Category)
Riona Millar, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dulwich and Peckham (Intermediate Category)
Rebecca Foster, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ashby De La Zouch Castle  (Junior Category)

RIBI President John Minhinick said: “A flair for creative writing is a special gift which should be encouraged. RIBI set up the Young Writers competition to promote and encourage the work of young people who show talent in this area. The quality of the entries continues to improve year on year and we would like to thank everyone who took part.”

The winners will attend a lunch with RIBI President John Minhinick at the RIBI headquarters in Alcester. They will receive a trophy and an inscribed pen from sponsors, Cross, the world famous pen manufacturers.

The winning entries, together with photographs from the RIBI Young Photographer competition will be compiled into a book to be presented to RI President Sakuji Tanaka and RIBI President John Minhinick to mark the end of their special year of Peace Through Service.
