The Rotary Club of Reading Matins has partnered with a YouTube group called The Yogscast to help raise money for End Polio Now, one of five charities selected for The Yogscast yearly Xmas live stream.
The Yogscast is a group of YouTube broadcasters who produce gaming-related video content, focused around their main YouTube channel, YOGSCAST Lewis & Simon, with additional content syndicated through a wider network of YouTube channels.
Yogscast was co-founded by Lewis Brindley, son of Rotarian Alan Brindley from Chelmsford Rotary Club and last year it raised a total of $1.1 million split between five different charities. In order to explain Rotary’s involvement in polio eradication, Alan Brindley will be taking part in the live stream on Monday 8 December. This will start around 1800 hours GMT until around midnight.
The live stream consists of games, chat and jokes which aim to encourage viewers to donate to the five charities. Charities being supported this year are Fauna & Flora International, Doctors Without Borders, Special Effect, End Polio Now & Oxfam.
