Rotary clubs across Great Britain and Ireland are going spotty as they put the final preparations in place for BBC Children in Need, Friday 18th November.
This special partnership between Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (RIBI) with Pudsey and co will see clubs wearing spots, raising lots and hosting a wide range of exciting and quirky events.
Rotarian Amanda Watkin, RIBI coordinator for BBC Children in Need, says here is a lot going on: "This is a great partnership between RIBI and Pudsey. Across the country, clubs are coming up with great ways to support BBC Children in Need, where the money raised stays in the local area, helping local kids. This is very much in keeping with Rotary’s principles.
"I have heard of kids parties in Horsham, a quiz night in Moray, black tie gala dinner in Barnet and, of course, a teddy bear’s picnic in Perthshire. These attractions are the tip of the iceberg as clubs are doing a tremendous amount of work and I hope the public will join in and enjoy. Visit our events page and find out what’s going on near you or contact your local Rotary club. They will be pleased to hear from you."
BBC Children in Need reaches out to under-privileged children all across the country to provide support. Your donations could be used to provide sensory equipment at a nursery for visually impaired youngsters or even a bereavement worker to support a child who has lost a parent.
Rotary clubs support a range of activities from youth competitions to good causes at home and overseas. Discover your Rotary club and find out how you can make a world of difference whilst making friends and having a great time in the process.
