Rotary in the West Scotland area are to sponsor one of Scotland’s biggest Track and Field Athletics Championships next month.
Rotary in the West of Scotland are the sole sponsor for the Scottish Schools Indoor Athletic Championships at the Emirates Arena in the City, which was a main venue for the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow last summer.
The Championships which will be named “Rotary International Scottish Schools Indoor Athletic Championships” are due to take place on 4th and 5th February with more than 1400 athletes from 200 schools throughout Scotland competing.
Frances Fegan, Vice Chairman of the SSAA said “The support from Rotary in Scotland is very encouraging for everyone involved in athletics in school communities. We are very grateful for the sponsorship and hope that we can now work together to put on a great event”
Richard Lees, a former governor on the West Scotland area, adds, “Rotary is for communities. Clubs in the West of Scotland voted to support the SSAA following on from the success of the Commonwealth Games and we are proud to support our schools and their communities.”
