Rotary is helping this delicious event for a fourth year to bring people together and have a great day out on their very own doorstep. The partnership first started in 2011 when many clubs took to the streets and brought neighbours together to celebrate the Jubilee with style. Since then, the event has grown and it is very exciting to be pairing up with The Eden Project’s Big Lunch once more.

The big day is Sunday 7th June when it is hoped that the good weather has finally arrived and great food will be enjoyed by all. If everyone brings a dish on the day, there will be plenty to go around. If they take their dish home, there will be less washing up too.

Suggest it to your club or district and find a place which will welcome one and all. It could be a leisure centre with a sports hall, a school or even your own street. Rotary is many things, including resourceful, so finding a venue should be easy. Once you have your Big Lunch location, tell everyone about it and let the community spirit grow. You may even find that local businesses will support you through sponsorship or even purchasing food.

Lunches can be big or small and everyone can bring something to the table; whether that is a dish to share, an extra pair of hands or setting up. The 2015 Big Lunch packs are now available to order for free at www.thebiglunch.com or by calling 0845 850 8181. It is full of ideas and resources; including stickers, posters and invitations.
