Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland is delighted to welcome Peter Davey as the new President for the year of 2015/16.
As a member of Rotary since 1988, Peter has fulfilled a number of high profile roles including Training Leader at two international assemblies in San Diego, RI President Representative at three district conferences and District Governor of District 1100 in 2007/08.
He is a member of the Rotary Club of Monmouth and his professional background is in banking where he was the Deputy Regional Director and Area Manager for NatWest in Wales. Later he worked in Independent education finance with the Woodard Corporation who elected him a Corporate Fellow on his retirement. He was, at one time, Chairman of the British Institute of Management Yeovil and District.
Peter believes that Rotarians make a huge difference to those in need, and his priority as President will be to ensure that clubs receive the support and encouragement required to become an even stronger, more vibrant group delivering even more humanitarian service and enhancing the wider public image.
Peter comments: “Being a Rotarian brings enjoyment, fulfilment and opportunities for personal development to so many people. An important aim for my Presidential year will be to establish the most effective relationships between the clubs, districts and Rotary so that we can build on our combined strengths and tackle our weaknesses to ensure that we are strong for future generations.
“I’m looking forward to the year ahead, and we have a great team of District Governors to help us achieve all the objectives that we have set out for the year. I hope to see clubs and members flourish, while welcoming new members by giving them the opportunity to learn all about what Rotary has to offer.”
