The Christmas single released by Rotarians in South West England has made it to the number 10 spot of Amazon’s Hot New Releases MP3 Chart since its release on Monday. The song – Christmas Time (Children Sing) – is sung by Cornish singer and TV presenter Shane Solomon and has been released to raise funds for The Rotary Foundation.
Rotarian Stephen Lay, who is behind the single, said: “We are delighted by the number of people who have supported us by downloading the single, both in Great Britain and Ireland and other countries as far afield as New Zealand and the United States. We are hopeful that with the continued help of the public and fellow Rotarians, that the momentum will continue in order to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause."
Christmas Time (Children Sing) is a feel good festive ballad and it is hoped that the continuing interest will help propel the single even further up the charts to compete with other Christmas singles, including the X Factor winning song.
All profits will go to The Rotary Foundation and every penny raised will go to supporting humanitarian work around the world, including the recent Philippines typhoon disaster for which the Rotary Foundation will be drawing up a plan for long term sustainable development.
