The BBC is highlighting a documentary this week about the extraordinary work of Sir Nicholas Winton to save Jewish children from the Nazis.

To coincide with the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of WWII, the train journey of Winton’s Children across Europe from Prague to England is being re-created. There are short features on this on BBC Breakfast every day and on the BBC News website here, with a number of links to other pages.

There will be a half hour documentary about the journey on Our World on the BBC News Channel on Sunday 6th September. It will be shown at 10.30, 14.30 and 23.30.

Sir Nicholas was featured at the RIBI Conference in Blackpool in 2008. He celebrated his 100th birthday in May this year and is a member of Maidenhead Rotary Club.
