The Rotary Club of Settle is inviting Rotarians, friends and members of the public to take a special walk for polio on the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend, Saturday May 24. The walk, the Settle Saunter, is a chance to help the fight against polio whilst enjoying a short break amidst the splendid scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

The club has done its fair share of polio fundraising in recent years, including the launch in 2009 of the Settle Saunter. The first three years of the Saunter were dedicated to polio and funds raised from entry fees amounted to £2,500.

So this year the club is hoping as many people as possible will take part. The Rotary Club of Settle looks forward to welcoming both Rotarians and members of the public to share this picturesque part of the world.

The Settle Saunter is open to the general public and offers four routes with distances of eight, ten, 15 and 26 miles, beginning and ending in Settle. A certificate, badge and a hot wholesome meal are provided. Concessions are available. There are plenty of B&Bs in the area as well as rental accommodation, camping and caravanning pitches. For more details please visit the Rotary Club of Settle.
