A football club in Greater Manchester are starting off their new campaign with the support of their local Rotary club.

The Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club has joined forces with the Stalybridge Celtic Foundation to sponsor one of their teams ahead of the new football season.

The club has agreed to sponsor the cost of new playing kit for one of the Tameside club’s adult PAN-disability teams, Stalybridge Celtic Blues.

The Blues, who won Division One of the Cheshire East Ability Counts League last season, will be competing in a new strip courtesy of Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary.

The Rotary Club of Dukinfield and Stalybridge is proud to sponsor the Stalybridge Celtic Blues this season and wish them the best of luck in the season ahead.”

Rotary Club President, Stephen Gilligan, said they were fully behind the club for the new campaign.

He said: “The Rotary Club of Dukinfield and Stalybridge is proud to sponsor the Stalybridge Celtic Blues this season and wish them the best of luck in the season ahead.

“Our members will try to get along to as many games as possible this season to cheer on the blues and look forward to a long relationship with the Stalybridge Celtic Community team.”

Stalybridge Celtic Foundation’s Community Officer, Mike Smith thanked the Rotary club for their “terrific gesture”.

Together we lead change in our own communities and around the world.
