Rotary event in Leicestershire hosts hundreds of cyclists on 10th anniversary

Lutterworth Rotary Club organised a day full of fun activities for the community that raised some much needed funds for Epilepsy Action, Cystic Fibrosis and Rotary charities.

Lutterworth Rotary Club recently got to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Big Bike Ride with another successful event.

300 keen riders enjoyed a peaceful ride through the South Leicestershire countryside, finishing back at the Misterton Hall and being welcomed by the Lutterworth town crier.

Riders had a choice of routes that were 11, 23, 39 and 67 miles long so anyone could take part regardless of ability.

This year the club were particularly pleased to welcome their new guests from Ukraine to the event for the first time since they have settled in the Lutterworth area.

On the lawn of Misterton Hall there was a hog roast provided by Neil Green Catering as well as ice cream and cake from Nathan Miles. Later on, everyone got to have a drink at The Jolly Hucksters while listening to the Hatstand Band.

The event raised roughly around £3,000, all of which goes to Epilepsy Action, Cystic Fibrosis & Rotary Charities both in the UK & overseas. Over the 10 years that the Big Bike Ride has been running, some £33,000 has been raised for good causes.
