Nicki Scott is the brains behind the project, which has been pulled together in a matter of weeks.

She said: “The togetherTalks are new Rotary. We are living in interesting times, when the landscape tomorrow will be shaped very differently from what existed previously.

These togetherTalks aim to enhance Rotary’s relevance, raise awareness of key contemporary issues, and reach out to a wider audience.”

“For the hundreds of thousands of people who have volunteered during the COVID-19 pandemic, the challenge for Rotary is to engage them now.

“After all, what they are doing today, Rotary has been doing for 120 years, and will be doing again tomorrow.

“These togetherTalks aim to enhance Rotary’s relevance, raise awareness of key contemporary issues, and reach out to a wider audience, beyond Rotary, with the aim of expanding our reach.”

Nicki described the live events as an opportunity to spotlight Rotary, engage leaders to exchange ideas, and take action by connecting communities together.

The togetherTalks provides a platform for Rotary to return to the essence of its roots – as the ethical, original social network.”

“Now is the time for accelerated change which will define Rotary and enhance its relevance for a new generation,” she added. “We need to be riding that wave of momentum now.

“The togetherTalks provides a platform for Rotary to return to the essence of its roots – as the ethical, original social network.”

The togetherTalks will be live streamed on Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland’s YouTube channel, with the audience able to submit questions during the event.

There are also plans for a togetherConversations, a podcast which will pick up on some of the themes of the talk, and which will be made available in the togetherTalks page on our website..
