Rotary is delighted to announce the winners of this year’s RIBI Young Photographer competition. RIBI Young Photographer aims to encourage young people to experiment with different techniques and express their ideas through the medium of photography. Thousands of young people from all over Great Britain and Ireland took part by submitting three creative photographs on the theme of peace.

Winners in the three categories are: Stella Stockbridge (junior), sponsored by the Rotary Club of Aylesbury, Harry Thomas (intermediate), sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alresford and Hayden Porter (senior), sponsored by the Rotary Club of Coventry Jubilee.

RIBI President John Minhinick said: “We have had an amazing number of entries this year from 23 Rotary districts and the quality has been outstanding. The images submitted included many interpretations of the peace theme and made great use of both black and white and colour photography.”

Stella, Harry and Hayden will attend an awards lunch with RIBI President John Minhinick in June when they will receive their certificates and prizes, which include a coaching session from a professional photographer on photographic portraiture.

RIBI Young Photographer is just one of many activities which Rotary runs to help young people develop their skills. These include Young Chef, Young Musician and Young Writer. Rotary is also committed to developing future generations through clubs such as Interact, Rotaract, Rotakids and the Rotary Youth Exchange programme.
